Health and safety training plays a fundamental role in ensuring employees work safely and without risk to health. This Health and Safety at Work Awareness e-learning course is designed to provide participants with knowledge of their responsibilities regarding health and safety, as well as the importance of safety in the workplace.
Who this course is aimed at? As it is a legal requirement, this course is aimed at everyone working in any work sector, especially if the activity can be a potential workplace hazard. Thus, to work in areas such as factories, warehouses, window cleaners, healthcare workers, beauticians, cleaners, retail, housekeepers, kitchen porters, construction site, warehouse, food packaging" among many other activities it is extremely necessary to have this training.
Course objectives: At the end of this course, learners will have an understanding of health and safety legislation and be able to list common causes of accidents. They will also be able to understand good practice in relation to electricity, safe manual handling techniques, as well as a good practice associated with chemical handling, the event of a fire, also to know how to deal with an accident.
Learners will also understand why PPE is crucial at the workplace, being able to identify the different types of clothing and regulations surrounding PPE. You will also learn when and why PPE should be used, risk assessment along with control measures that can be implemented.

The course is coordinated by Dr. Alessandra Cordeiro in Managing Safely - Health and Safety at the Workplace (IOSH), and professional trainer by the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD), being responsible for support and tutoring to reinforce learning and knowledge.
