Introduction

Please find below our Terms and Conditions. They apply when using or purchasing products & services through our Web site Skill Ireland.com and provide important information for you as a buyer. Read the Terms & Conditions therefore well prior to ordering as each order will require that you validate them.

PPS Letter

As a training company, Skill Ireland Training is unable to issue a PPS letter to participants, as this letter is only provided along with a job offer from a recognized employer or recruitment agency. It should be noted that the issuance of a PPS letter in conjunction with a Manual Handling Course or any other training course is considered illegal.

Manual Handling Practical Session.

The participant in the Manual Handling Practical Session should be able to take part in the session in order to receive a Full Manual Handling Certificate.

The participant must declare he/she is able to participate in the practical evaluation of Manual Handling. It involves activities related to the manual handling of loads. You must confirm that you do not suffer from any condition that could result in injury from participating in the practical assessment.

  • If you are not able to take part in this activity, you must contact Skill Ireland Training to request a Manual Handling Training Certificate (Theory Only)

The Manual Handling practical assessment will be conducted by videoconference led by a Certified (QQI) Manual Handling Instructor. Skill Ireland Training reserves the right to record images, which they will only be used in auditing situations carried out by the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland.

  • If you do not want your video to be recorded, you must contact Skill Ireland Training to request a Manual Handling Training Certificate (Theory Only)

Manual Handling Practical Session via videoconference.

A practical assessment must be completed within 4 weeks of the completion of the theory part of the course. If the participant does not schedule their practical assessment within 4 weeks of completing the theory part of the course, they will be required to retake the theory final assessment before proceeding with the practical assessment. If more than 12 weeks pass, the participant will need to retake the entire theory portion of the course.

Training Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course, participants can download a digital certificate from their student dashboard. The certificate will include a unique verification code. A printed certificate can be requested and sent to the participant's address for an additional cost of €5.

Please note: After downloading or saving your certificate, please ensure that it is properly configured and that the text content is not overlapping or incorrectly displayed. This issue may occur if your internet browser is not updated, which affects the correct display of the certificate. If updating your browser does not resolve the issue, please contact us, and we will send you a PDF copy via email.

No Liability for Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY, LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT, EVEN IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN ANY CASE, THE COMPANY'S AND ITS SUPPLIERS' ENTIRE LIABILITY UNDER ANY PROVISION OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE COURSE. BECAUSE SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY.

Membership restrictions

Each member upon payment of the course fee will be granted a unique user ID and password which is used to gain access to the materials therein. Under NO circumstances whatsoever may any registered user share or distribute their user IDs or passwords to third parties or display the content of the course to other non-registered members for the purpose of training. Under NO circumstances whatsoever shall members distribute the courseware contained within this site. Each course is individually licensed. Any breach of these terms will result in the immediate suspension of the account and additional charges in respect of the additional unauthorised uses of the course.

Minimum system and connectivity requirements

Members are required to have an installed working version of an operating system Microsoft Windows 7 / Mac OS X 10.8 as a minimum and Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9 or above and appropriate software, as indicated for the course.

The web pages are not guaranteed to display in any other format. Adobe flash software version 10 and above is recommended for members to complete certain courses. If Adobe Flash Player is required, it will be indicated as such in the course description. Graphics card is recommended but not essential. Audio reproduction via speakers or headset is required.

Standard quality minimum connected speed to the user device a minimum 3 Mb/sec is required For High quality minimum connected speed to the user device 5 Mb/sec is required and up to date video drivers are required. Minimum memory of 1GB must be available

Mobile

The content has been tested and is known to work on iOS devices from the iPad 2 onwards and iPhone 4 onwards, It has also been tested on some Android devices including the Samsung Galaxy tab II and the Kindle Fire HD. Performance may be limited by signal availability. Most other Android devices with some exceptions depending on OS version and browser used can be used. LOGGING IN

If the account was registered using the free trial form or while purchasing courses, the password was created during registration. If the account was created by an administrator, a welcome email was sent with the account username and a link to create the password

To log in to your account, use the username and password in the candidate login form. Please note:

  • The username is generated by the eLearning system using your first and last name. It is not an email address.
  • If you forget your password it can be reset using the link below the login form

CONFIRMING YOUR NAME (VERY IMPORTANT)

When logging in to your account for the first time you will be asked to confirm your name.

If your name doesn’t appear correctly, you will be given the opportunity to change it. This name is displayed on course certificate(s) so please be aware that once you have confirmed your name, it will not possible to change it.

COURSES

Once you have confirmed your name you will be directed to the suite of courses. Any course(s) that you have a licence for will appear in the ‘Your Courses’ section. Other courses are available to purchase from the purchase page by clicking the ‘More Courses’ tab.

To start a course click the ‘Open’ button to the right of the course description where you will be presented with a welcome video. The courses are modular and each module has a series of videos; usually with questions at the end. There is a required pass percentage for each module that must be achieved to complete the course and access a certificate.

Note: you get 3 chances to achieve a pass on each module. If you fail a module more than 3 times you will have to contact your eLearning provider or business admin to arrange a module reset (unlock). A maximum of 3 module resets per course are allowed. If after 3 module resets another module is failed the course will be permanently locked (failed). If you fail a course you will have to purchase another course licence and restart.

Once a course is successfully completed, a ‘Get Your Certificate’ button will become available. Use this to download your certificate in PDF format. Certificates are saved to your account and can be re-downloaded at any point from your profile page.

Skill Ireland Training and e-Learning Partner - Refund & Cancellation Policy

If technical problems stop you from accessing the content you have purchased our support team will be try to help you resolve the problem. You are required to have a functioning internet connection and equipment to enable you to view video files delivered over the internet. Providing you have the required connection and equipment and we are unable to resolve the problem with you, you will receive a full refund for all unused content purchased. Used content is that for which a course certificate has been issued

Generally, online training course orders are NOT eligible for a refund. We MAY approve a refund request provided if the student meets the following requirements:

  • The Student MUST notify us of their desire to cancel the course by email to info@skillireland.com within 24-hours of paying for the online course.
  • The Student must NOT HAVE ACCESSED ANY online course content:
  • Online training courses may NOT be transferred to another student.
  • Students have 14 days to complete an online course (if applicable)
  • Orders placed with a “Corporate Account” or “Discount Code” are NOT eligible for refund, cancellation, or transfer. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Course Access period (Applicable for Skill Ireland Course Only) Manual Handling, Food Safety Level 1 HACCP and Health and Safety at Work Awareness

  • Students will have 14 days from the date of registration to complete all online courses. Students may request a 7 days extension provided if the request is made BEFORE the training course expires.
  • Expired courses, students who did not complete the course within the given time, or students who FAIL their final exam (see below) are NOT eligible for credit or refund of any kind, regardless of time spent in the course or time remaining.
  • All online courses have a final exam. Students must receive a passing grade (generally 80%) to be issued a certificate of completion.

Participants will be given 3 attempts to pass their final examination. If a student FAILS a final exam 3 times, they will be required to re-enroll in the course, pay all tuition and complete all course requirements (including full time) if they want to take the course online a second time. There is no credit or partial discount for failed exams or re-registration.

e-Learning Partner Course. Health and Safety, Health and Social Care or Business Skills

There is no time limit to complete any course available from our e-learning partner portal.


In house (face-to-face) or Live Streaming

If the participant does not attend the face-to-face or the live streaming course or cancels his participation on the same day of the course, the full amount paid will not be refunded.

If the participant withdraws from the face-to-face or live-streaming course within 48 hours before its completion, 50% of the remaining amount will be refunded.

Combo Offer (Online Course + Live Streaming Course)

If the participant has purchased the Combo offer (Online Course + Live Streaming Course) and wishes to cancel their participation in the Live Streaming Course, the full amount for the Online Course will be applied since it is non-refundable, and 50% of the remaining value of the purchased Combo will be refunded.

Refund Conditions

All access to the VideoTile/Skill Ireland Training e-Learning website is governed by a username and password. The username and password are part of a system that protects the security of the resource and enables VideoTile Learning Ltd and Skill Ireland Training to monitor usage by any individual. When a refund request is received, VideoTile Learning Ltd and Skill Ireland Training reserve the right to track the usage by an individual (through his/her username and password) of:

  • Specific pages viewed
  • Frequency of use
  • The time period of use
  • Certificates issued
  • IP address used

No refund will be granted if VideoTile Learning or Skill Ireland Training Ltd has reason to believe that an individual has viewed any of the information that they purchased. VideoTile Learning Ltd and Skill Ireland Training reserve the right to charge a handling fee (15% of the original fee), if a refund has been authorized.

Refunds Following Cancellation

If you paid by credit or debit card from our website, your refund will be made directly to your credit or debit card within 30 days of your cancellation. If you paid by any other means then your refund will be made by cheque, this will be posted to you within 30 days of your cancellation.

Requested Discount Code – Term and Conditions

If you have requested a discount code after purchase any course you must use the discount code a soon as possible after you have received it.

This is a unique code assigned to you.

  • It can be used to one course only
  • It cannot be transferred to another person
  • It cannot be used to purchase a combo offer

Please note that you must use the discount code on the website checkout page. Please make sure to enter the correct code and apply it before completing the purchase.

In case you forget to use your discount code at the time of your purchase you will have to pay the current price available for the chosen course. You may be able to apply the code on your next purchase.

Skill Ireland Training will not refund any discount in case you forget to use the discount code at the time of your purchase.
