Practical Assessment - via video upload

To complete your Practical Assessment for Manual Handling, you are required to record and submit two short videos demonstrating your lifting techniques. These will be evaluated by a certified Manual Handling Instructor.

  • Video 1: Lifting an object from the floor to a shelf at waist height and then returning it to the ground.
  • Video 2: Lifting an object from the floor to a shelf above shoulder height and then returning it to the ground.

Video Feedback Policy

Same-Day Review

  • Videos submitted during working hours – between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday – will be reviewed on the same day by a certified Manual Handling Instructor.

Weekend Submissions

Videos submitted outside working hours, including evenings or weekends, will be reviewed on the next working day.

  • For example, if you submit a video on Saturday, it will be reviewed on Monday.

  • If you submit after 5:00 PM on a weekday, it will be queued for review the following morning.

To ensure your video assessment meets the course requirements and is accepted for review, please follow these detailed submission guidelines in the course:

Video Format & Quality

  1. Full Visibility of Your Body and Movements

    • Position the camera to capture your entire body from head to toe.

    • Movements must be clearly visible, including lifting, squatting, and reaching.

  2. Lighting

    • Record in a well-lit area. Natural daylight is ideal, but indoor lighting is acceptable if bright and even.

    • Avoid backlighting (e.g., standing in front of a window), which may obscure your form.

Practical Assessment - via Zoom

The practical assessment of Manual Handling via Zoom, will that place on the following days and times:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 9:00 AM, 9:20 AM, 9:40 AM.

If you have any difficulty with the times available, get in touch with us to arrange a different time. Availability will depend on whether any other participant has already booked in advance.

Note: The practical assessment will be carried out only after the theory part has been completed. You should contact us by email or WhatsApp to book your Practical Assessment in order to receive the Zoom link details.

You must have available:

  • Computer with webcam, microphone, and internet access or a Smartphone/Tablet with a Zoom app installed.
  • Have a small table or a shelf nearby
  • A load to be moved (Example: a small suitcase or a medium box)

After scheduling your practical assessment, you will receive a Zoom link to join the practical assessment on the day and time scheduled.

Learner's Declaration 

At the conclusion of the online manual handling course, you will have a Student Declaration:

  1. Declaration of physical fitness

I declare that I am fit and able to participate in the manual handling practical session. I am aware that it involves moving and carrying a load. I confirm that I do not suffer from any known ailments that may result in injury in the manual handling practical session.

  • If you are not able to take part in this activity, a Manual Handling Training Certificate (Theory Only) will be issued to you.
  1. Practical Assessment Record Keeping

Please note that a screenshot of your participation in the Practical Assessment will be taken and kept in our records until the expiration date of your certificate.
